Fiagon wins Special Award for Innovation at the Deloitte Fast 50 Awards.

Berlin/Hennigsdorf Deloitte conferred the “Technology Fast 50 Awards” on Germany’s fastest growing technology companies at the Museum for Communication in Berlin on the evening of 2 November. Fiagon AG not only picked up the Special Award for Innovation, it also ranks 5th among Germany’s 50 fastest growing companies.

This makes Fiagon a flagship company in the German technology sector outstanding by virtue of its strong sales growth. A growth rate of 698.05 percent over the last four financial years puts Fiagon AG in fifth place in the rankings. The placements are based on the percentage sales growth over the previous four financial years [2011-2014]. Fiagon offers a powerful navigation system for surgery that is unique in the world.

Deloitte presented the Special Award for Innovation for the second time. It honors particularly innovative business models, products or technologies. The award winner of this category is Fiagon – the developer of “chip on the tip” navigation technology. The microsensors are directly integrated in the tip in order to perform surgical procedures simply and with the highest precision.

“It is a great honor for us to receive the Special Award for Innovation. It was a long way through to the market launch, but it was worth it. With our idea, we hope to revolutionize the medical technology market”, explains Timo Krüger, the Fiagon CEO.

“This year we have again received numerous applications from a wide range of technology sectors. The wealth of ideas underlines the innovative power of Germany as a technology base. In the digital age, companies have to reconsider their business processes, adapt their products, as well as analyze and evaluate huge quantities of data. Competent IT solutions are therefore very much in demand. With their innovative business models, the Fast-50 participants have gained customer acceptance and have the potential to take off worldwide,” explains Dr. Andreas Gentner, Partner and Head of Technology, Media & Telecommunications at Deloitte.

Using its “FlexSensor” technology, Fiagon develops and manufactures innovative next generation surgical navigation systems. Together with world renowned doctors, Fiagon has set a new standard in ENT navigation over recent years with its electromagnetic navigation technology. This unique technology is already used outside Germany, mainly in Europe, the USA, as well as China, in oral and maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery and spinal surgery.
